Sacramento Porsche Checking Purchasing
Before purchasing a Porsche, make sure your excitement doesn’t fog your mind when making the most logical decision for you. You can fully check over the Porsche and then you are welcome to have one of our certified, mechanics at Midtown Autoworks of Sacramento check it out, too.
One of the first things to do before purchasing a Porsche is making sure to thoroughly look it over. You don’t want to ever assume that whatever the current owner is telling you are accurate. Make sure you take your time before committing to purchase it.
Checking out the Porsche’s exterior to see how it sits, as the ground clearance is typically 6 inches, or if it has been lowered to Euro specifications, you should be about 4.5 or 5 inches of clearance. Also, thoroughly check the paint, bumpers and wheel-wells to make sure everything looks original and in great shape.
Take a look underneath the hood making sure the engine looks cleaned. Pull the dipstick can check to see if the oil is clean. If it is dirty, there might be a concern other than an oil change needed. Check the oil pan which is a plastic pan found underneath the engine. If it is there, run your finger across the upper surface to check for puddles of oil or other fluids or a dent in the pan.
Check for oil leaks. You can do so by checking to see if there is a puddle under the Porsche. If there is any kind of leak, especially an abnormal leak, you probably should just walk away from that particular car.
Some other things is checking to see how the vehicle starts and how it runs when doing a test drive. You can ask the owner questions, but it is a good idea to thoroughly check it out as best as you can. If you are interested, ask the owner if you can have your mechanic check it out before you decide to purchase it. The owner should let you do that if they want to be honest with the new owner.
