Hello again from Midtown Autoworks! We are here again this month discussing the best ways to maintain your car. We understand that your Mercedes-Benz and/or Porsche is one of your most prized possessions and we want to help you keep it in the best shape possible. That being said, it all starts with you! If you do not take initiative and go out of your way to get the help your car needs, there is only so much we can do. However, following these three tips outlined below will hopefully encourage your car maintenance recognition and habits.

Rotate your tires. Modern tires are pretty technologically advanced and can last 50,000 miles and sometimes even more. But this is assuming you get them rotated every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. One of the primary reasons why it is important to rotate your tires is because they will wear in slightly different patterns depending on their position on the car. Therefore, regular rotation will ensure that they wear more evenly and, more importantly, last longer.

Be on the lookout for any brake problems. For example, any grinding noise, thud, or odd vibration that occurs when you press the brake is a sign that you need to get them checked out as soon as possible. Any of these problems probably indicate your brake pads wearing down but if you do not bring your car in to get looked at, it could damage something much more expensive like your rotors. Therefore, pay attention to how your car responds when you press the brake and bring it in if there is any concern.

Last but certainly not least, use the right parts! This is why bringing your car in to experts like the ones here at Midtown Autoworks is so important. We know the right brands of spark plugs, filters, pumps, etc. that are meant for luxury cars like a Mercedes-Benz or a Porsche. If you do not use the right parts your car might not perform as well and, even worse, could shorten the life of your car. Bring your car in so experts can advise you on using the right parts.

Treat your luxury car the way it is supposed to be treated. Follow these three maintenance tips and your car will be in good hands. For more information visit Midtown Autoworks!
