The most iconic Porsche car is without a doubt their 911. The classic, the best, the iconic 911. Although Porsche = 911 that model is not the best selling one as of recent. The 2022 Porsche Macan is the luxury brand’s best-selling vehicle and today we are going to explain why.
The main reason the 2022 Porsche Macan outsold every other model this year is because it got a significant style update. When we were first introduced to the Macan in 2014 the model had two trim levels. In Europe, they got a diesel, while the U.S. got a GTS later. In 2019, for 2020 and on the Macan was updated with a new chassis and new front and rear styling that buyers loved. Every year there is a slight change but the 2022 look seemed to hit the market differently so Porsche can thank their exterior designers for the spike in sales this year.
Power is another reason why buyers went crazy. The Macan gets some serious engines, with some serious power. The base is a 2.0-liter turbocharge four-cylinder that makes 261 horsepower which is a 13-horsepower increase over last year’s version. It only increases from there. The GTS gets 434 horsepower that Porsche says enables the SUV to hit 60mph in 4.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package. Porsche did not mess around with this year’s Macan and it comes with some legit power.
The most unique selling point is the Macan’s handling. Good handling in an SUV is tough but Porsche’s active suspension management system makes this model one of the best amongst it’s competitors. The system works with Porsche’s air suspension to not only smooth out roads, where it can self-level but it also lets drivers pick the driving style and reacts to the road surface. A feature that most other SUVs cannot offer.
Overall, the 2022 Porsche Macan is a great car and Porsche is expected to sell over 20,000 units by the end of the year. If you want a luxury SUV know that the 2022 Macan is the one to get.
