The trend over the past few years for car manufacturers has been making electric vehicles (EVs). Every car brand has at least one EV. Some brands have fully committed to EVs exclusively while other brands are transitioning a bit slower. Porsche is considered one of the brands that are taking a slower approach. That being said, their product remains one of the best on the market. Porsche came out with their first EV which was the Taycan and their next model is said to be the Macan. We will not see the Macan EV until next year but there are some things we do know.

The Macan will be built based on Porsche’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) modular EV architecture. Audi was the first to preview what PPE would look like in their A6 E-Tron concept and Porsche will preview theirs in the Macan EV in 2024. This new PPE architecture is brand new but Porsche will essentially take lessons learned from the Taycan and implement those lessons in a versatile new platform designed to underpin everything from the new Macan EV to quite likely the new Porsche 718 EV sports car.

According to Motortrend, all PPE Porsches beginning with the new 2024 Macan EV will sport a new 100kWh battery pack with 800-volt architecture. Porsche says this sized battery pack is the best compromise between range and performance. The 800-volt quick-charging capability will help bridge any perceived range gaps.

Solely based on spy images, the Macan EV will have a less busy cockpit with only three instead of five round gauges in the main instrument pod. There will be a new multi-functional center display without a cluttered switchgear and the crammed center stack. There might be an option of Sport Chrono, just like other cars in Stuttgart’s line-up.

We do not know everything about the 2024 Macan EV but these are things we are pretty certain of. We will know more once Porsche finalizes things in showrooms later this year.
