The end of 2022 is approaching and that means there is no better time to buy a car! However, you probably are not as familiar with Porsche’s infotainment system, or as Porsche likes to call it, Porsche Communications Management (PCM). All 2022 models come with the PCM 6.0 and today we are going to highlight some of the best features.
The first thing you will notice with the PCM is that the user interface is very easy to recognize. It comes with new, colored icons that make all functions simple to use. If pressing buttons and figuring out the controls is not your thing, do not worry as PCM’s Voice Pilot is there to assist you! PCM’s Voice Pilot 6.0 is further improved compared to previous versions and makes it easier to access several functions without having to touch a single thing on the dashboard.
If you are a Spotify user, you will have direct access to your favorite Spotify songs and podcasts in the revised PCM 6.0. According to Porsche, Spotify Premium customers can link their account to the vehicle using their Porsche ID and use Spotify as an additional media source. How? The vehicle accesses the streaming service provider directly without having to use a smartphone. A pretty cool feature that not all car infotainment systems can provide.
Lastly, the PCM 6.0 is considered one of the best because for all of their electric cars Porsche has improved the calculation of charging sessions in the Charging Planner. The Charging Planner considers the time required to start and end the charging process at the charging stations when calculating the total driving time. Additionally, the new technology finds charging stations that offer higher energy outputs and plans charging stops more efficiently. These updates make it so much easier for new electric car drivers as it gives them peace of mind.
The PCM 6.0 is one of the best infotainment systems out there because of the user interface, the advanced Voice Pilot feature, Porsche’s partnership with Spotify, and their significant improvement in the Charging Planner. All of these functions are standard in the 2022 Porsche 911, Taycan, Cayenne, and Panamera.
