The newest Porsche car is set to hit the market in the near future and it’s got everyone, especially sports car fanatics, waiting on the edge of their seats. At the end of this month, starting November 30th, the 992-generation Porsche 911 will debut at the Los Angeles motor show. Spies have been keeping an eye out for test runs and they have come back with some insight that everyone wants to hear. Here are a few of the most important findings.
The biggest difference is the rear of the car. The wide body look makes for a sharper, more elegant light signature. A light bar will span across the entire rear end between taillights. All versions will have hips measuring at 72 inches, coupled with a 1.6-inch-wide front track with matching front fenders. The wheelbase will remain the same with an overall length increase of about an inch. Carrera wheel diameters will measure 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear. S models will measure at 20 and 21 inches. Being a rear heavy car, increasing rear grip will only help overall handling (August Achleitner – Porsche’s VP of sports cars).
Additionally, the interior is something to look out for. The interior, influenced by the Panamera, will include a large digital screen presenting all the features necessary for operation based on spy photos. Rumors that the 992 will be Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) only, have been extinguished due to proof images showing only a manual transmission. So, for all the stick shift lovers, fear not as you will have this option for the newest Porsche model.
Porsche never fails to surprise with new features and elements. There’s a lot to look forward to this holiday season but don’t forget about what’s new to come for the best car brand in the market.
