We got a preview of the Porsche all-electric sedan a couple of years back with the debut of the “Mission E” concept car. Now, we are excited that Porsche has officially announced that the so-called “Mission E” will be produced and named the mighty “Taycan.” Short for “lively young horse,” the Taycan will be available for sale sometime before the end of this year as a 2020 model year car. Here is what you need to know about the brand new all-electric Taycan.
CEO Oliver Blume quoted, “Our new electric sports car is strong and dependable; it’s a vehicle that can consistently cover long distances and that epitomizes freedom.” With the Taycan you will get everything you expect when you think of the Porsche brand. The Taycan is promised to have power as all Porsche cars do. At launch, the Taycan will come equipped with two electric motors. In the base model, the front one will deliver 215 hp while the one in the rear will contribute an additional 402 hp according to Car Magazine. Alongside power the Taycan will be dependable. With the latest technology and science engineered inside and out of the Taycan, it is confirmed that this car will be one of the safest and most dependable cars in the market.
Aside from strength and dependability, the Taycan will have model variants. The Taycan is expected to have different models like the Taycan S, or a GTS. Some sources believe a wagon might be in the mix as well. It is reported that the car will be initially offered with three power outputs with electric motors at the front and in the rear excels for all-wheel drive. There are rumors that Porsche might eventually sell an entry-level rear-drive version, but this cannot be confirmed quite yet. In all, you will have various options to choose from when shopping for a brand new Taycan which makes it all the more fun.
Last but not least, the price of the Taycan will fall somewhere between the Cayenne and Panamera. As mentioned above there will probably be model variants offering higher performance, but you can expect the base price to be around $75,000. If you are interested, you can put down a deposit now by filling out a form on the Porsche website. A representative will then give you a call and they will take it from there!
There is a lot to look forward to in the new Taycan. There are new updates constantly coming out about this car so if you want the latest news, check back regularly on our blog or visit us for more information.
