The coronavirus pandemic has caused chaos around the world. Nationally, businesses are being forced to close their doors, people are losing their jobs, and there is a lot of uncertainty as we progress. We understand that there are countless questions that cross your mind daily, but we are here to help. We do not have all the answers, but we do have some information regarding Porsche’s plans during this difficult time.

Obviously, like everything else in the world, things will change on a daily basis. However, we do know that Porsche Cars North America and Porsche Financial Services are going to come out with unique programs that are designed to support Porsche’s loyal customer base and dealers. Some of the programs include temporary customer payment relief, incentivizing home delivery, expanding online retailing capabilities, and reducing operational costs for the 192 independently owned and operated U.S. dealers, according to J.D. Power.

Specifically:

  • Porsche Financial Services is offering up to a 6-month lease extension for contracts expiring by April 30.
  • They are offering payment deferrals of 30-60 days on a case-by-case basis.
  • Porsche is encouraging dealers to expand their online retail services. Porsche has reduced the total cost to launch the amenity which simplifies the processes to speed up installation of digital retail on dealer websites.
  • Porsche is in the process of expanding at-home delivery for new sales and availability of at-home, pick-up, and drop-off for maintenance and repairs.

Factories in Germany have been shut down. Delivery centers are shut down. Even the Porsche Experience Centers in LA and Atlanta are shut down. Porsche has yet to release when these locations will open back up. These closures have already negatively impacted sales for Porsche but at this point Porsche is doing the best damage control that they can with the well-being of their customers in mind.
