Knowing which repairs and services your car needs most, in the most effective order, on a schedule that makes the most sense can be challenging. If your car is no longer under warranty or maybe you drive an older car, it is important to properly evaluate and prioritize which repairs and services should get done first and which ones can maybe wait another few thousand miles. Today we are going to cover things that should come first and things that are not as essential.

If safety is on the line, it needs to be fixed. No questions asked. Things like compromised braking systems or worn out/damaged tires could make your vehicle a danger to people in the car and others on the road. Do not risk your safety or the safety of others. If your brakes need to be fixed. Fix them! If your tires are worn out, get new ones! These kind of car issues should be first priority and need to be fixed right away. Do not wait and take that risk.

The next priority should be breakdown prevention. You want your vehicle to perform reliably and well, right? The last thing you want is to be stranded when you least expect it. So, things like keeping your car hydrated with proper fluids on a regular basis is important. If you are handy it is easy to check oil levels and refill when necessary. Doing so on a regular basis will prolong the life of your vehicle and prevent breakdowns.

Last but not least proper maintenance of your vehicle can reduce the need for major (expensive) repairs. We are talking replacing belts, replacing filters, rotating tires, cleaning headlights and marker lights, switching out wiper blades, etc. All of these things that seem so small really do make a huge difference in the longevity of your vehicle. Taking care of these small things is the best way to keep your car healthy for the longest amount of time.

Make safety first priority, make sure your car will not break down on you, and properly maintain your car and your car will be happy! For more information on car services reach out to us here at Midtown Autoworks!
